Shelley 80th Annual Spud Day

For those of you who dont know, Shelley has an event every year around September and they celebrate yes you guested it POTATOES! and the community. It starts off w/ a parade then the city hands out free baked potatoes(as long as they last). During the day they have different events and food venders. At 3 they have a spud tug, which this year it rained so hard that everything and everyone got DRENCHED! but after it stopped they proceeded w/ the spud tug. Just another old day in Shelley. Go Russets!

Waiting for the parade to start(which happens right there on main street) with some of our neighbors.

This is the famous Spud Tug where 2 teams play tug a war over a hole filled of instant mashed potatoes (which were mixed together w/ water in a cement truck). Then whoever loses goes in the mashed potatoes.
